Text Encoding Name Selector

You use a selector for the GetTextEncodingName function to indicate which part of an encoding name you want to determine. The text encoding name selector is defined by the TextEncodingNameSelector data type:

The following enumeration defines the allowable constants for selecting parts of encoding names:

enum { kTextEncodingFullName = 0, kTextEncodingBaseName = 1, kTextEncodingVariantName = 2, kTextEncodingFormatName = 3 };

Constant descriptions

kTextEncodingFullName: Selector that requests the full name of the text encoding.
kTextEncodingBaseName: Requests the name of the base encoding.
kTextEncodingVariantName: Requests the name of the encoding variant, if available.
kTextEncodingFormatName: Requests the name of the encoding format, if available.
